Give me a boost... Of hydration
Ampoules, essences, serums... What exactly are they and what is the difference between them? These three terms are often thrown about and used interchangeably, and in certain cases they are, in fact, very similar. They essentially serve the same purpose, to treat and hydrate the skin, with higher levels of active ingredients than other skincare products.
There are certain cases, however, where a serum is specifically formulated to treat a certain skin issue, such as our Dark Spot Correcting Glow Serum, which is formulated to target dark spots and brighten the skin's overall complexion. Then there are serums like retinol serum, which is much more potent with active ingredients and fights signs of aging like fine lines and wrinkles, and because of the potency, probably should not be used every day. Have we lost you yet? We hope not!
As part of our Water Your Skin collection, the team at AXIS-Y had the goal of creating an ampoule that was both intensely hydrating while being gentle enough on the skin to be used daily, for all skin types. We wanted the formula to feel like an extra kick of hydration, melding perfectly with the Aqua Boosting Essence Toner and becoming the essential base for the Heartleaf My Type Calming Cream. The perfect middle man for a hydration trifecta.
So what exactly goes into a skin hydration elixir?
A closer look at our ingredients will explain why this ampoule is such a skin savior.
If you’ve already read our blog about our Aqua Boosting Essence Toner, you’ll know that the core ingredient for our toner is 10-Hyaluronic Acid. Of course we wanted to include this star-ingredient in our ampoule as well. In case you haven’t read that blog yet, check out the diagram below to visualize how 10-Hyaluronic Acid is absorbed into the skin. The “10” in 10-Hyaluronic Acid refers to the 10 different molecular weights of hyaluronic acid, which allow the different sizes of the molecules to be absorbed throughout the skin at different levels.
With this as our core ingredient, we also wanted to include nourishing and soothing ingredients with natural healing and strengthening elements. The ampoule also includes:

How to use our Ampoule
We suggest using our Advanced Aqua Boosting Ampoule right after our Aqua Boosting Essence Toner for the best, aqua boosting results.
Apply the desired amount directly onto your face using the dropper.
Gently pat the product in until fully absorbed.
You may experience a slightly sticky sensation upon application. This is completely normal! Just leave it for a minute or so and you will feel it dry to a silky smooth finish.
